“Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore.”
Dorothy and Toto felt they’d traveled far from home when a cyclone brought them (and their house) noisily into Munchkinland. But anyone visiting the soon-to-open LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City can visit the Land of Munchkins without traveling over the rainbow.
Like the Wicked Witch’s Castle, which we previewed for you last week, the Munchkinland Village is another part of The Wizard of Oz exhibit, located inside MINILAND. This setting inside the LEGOLAND Discovery Center focuses exclusively on Kansas City-area landmarks.
And like the Witch’s Castle, this detailed replica from the film is incredibly intricate, taking over 130 hours and approximately 15,000 LEGO bricks to complete. Pretty amazing, wouldn’t you say?
The Wizard of Oz MINILAND is scheduled to open April 29th but keep your eyes peeled, because there are more advanced peeks coming your way.
