Does switching from cigarettes to e-cigs really save you money?

You don’t have to go far to read papers, testimonials and blogs just like ours all about the health benefits of swapping cigarettes for vape kits. But what about the effects it has on your wallet?

Cigarettes have seen a steady rise in price over the years, and with the removal of smaller packets of cigarettes from our shelves (in the UK at least), buying a 20 pack of cigarettes can set you back anywhere up to in excess of £20!

But how does vaping compare?

Well, if you’re considering swapping cigs for Cloudstix in a bid to save money first and foremost, here are some points to consider that may just help your decision-making process.

There will be an initial investment

So many people have saved hundreds a month by quitting smoking and turning to vape kits, but many don’t prepare you for the initial investment that you have to make.

There are dozens of different vape devices out there, from budget vape kits for beginners to advanced mods for the more experienced vaper, and it comes as no surprise that these can sometimes rack up in price. Then you have the cost of upkeep (if you’re buying a mod you may also need to buy spare coils, wicking material and batteries). Even if you’re opting for a simple vape pen, you will still need to buy Cloudstix or e-liquid cartridges.

So, yes – an upfront cost can set you back a bit, and this is something you should expect if you’re thinking of ditching cigs for e-cigs.

Huge savings in the long run

Okay, so yes you may find that at the beginning your entire vaping setup has cost you the same as you’d spend on a month’s worth of cigarettes, but once those bits have been purchased, you’re setup for a while!

What we’re trying to say here is that, over time, you can save huge amounts of money by using your vape instead of burning through cigarette after cigarette. For example, if you smoked 1 pack of 20 cigarettes a day, you could save over £1,000 by the end of the year! Of course, this is variable depending on the quantity you used to smoke and the brand you used, but regardless, the savings are definitely tangible.

Vaping is more budget-friendly

The UK Government’s attempts to crackdown on the number of people smoking has meant that the overall cost of cigarettes has risen exponentially, regardless of the make. This means that for those on a budget, smoking traditional cigarettes is simply no longer a feasible option.

Vaping, on the other hand, offers a huge variety of budget-friendly solutions, meaning you can get started for the same as it could cost you to buy one or two packets of cigarettes! Obviously, prices vary from one retailer to the next, and the more technical your device the more you can be expected to pay, but on the whole, you are likely to get much more bang for your buck with vaping.

So – if you’re looking to save some money in 2021 (who isn’t!?) consider vaping as a means of doing just that.
